I am passionate about empowering professionals to become courageous and compassionate leaders, leading purpose-driven organisations. I love working with people as they develop their capacity for authentic leadership, whilst finding freedom and fulfilment in their own lives.
The corporate world is a complex place, full of uncertainty and ambiguity and it is essential that our leaders grow new capacities so that they can be as effective and impactful as possible. My clients and I co-create new possibilities for them as we unpack their old stories, identify their strengths, build their confidence, create insights, connect to their purpose and develop more meaningful relationships so that they can unlock their potential. When we understand ourselves better we can connect better with others, and achieve our most challenging goals.
Having over 25 years in senior finance roles I have real world experience that counts, as it has inevitably shaped the coach I have become.
I was drawn to coaching after years of working in roles which didn't energise or excite me. I felt stuck, and was struggling to know how to progress my career. I also felt frustrated with both myself as a leader, acknowledging that I wasn't bringing out the best in the people who reported to me, and also the leaders above and around me, who were demonstrating reactivity and volatility and I was observing so little empathy for the people and a distinct lack of connection to purpose. It was only once I worked with a coach that I began to connect to my purpose and play to my strengths, bringing me much greater fulfilment in my career.
Leadership is hard, as we are always being asked to do more with less, so it is essential that we prioritise our own well-being or we will not be able to show up as the leader we want to be. I have been on the edge of burnout so I will always support my clients to ensure they are doing what energises them and at the same time ensure that they push themselves out of their comfort zone, taking them to the next level!
To ensure that I can maintain my energy for my purpose I practice yoga and meditation, indulge my love for theatre and get outdoors bushwalking and skiing, all with my beautiful family (as far as teenage girls will allow!!).
